Thank you Davida! Where are you from? I am from Bolivia and I am so glad this cake is sweet enough but not offensively sweet as other recipes.
I used coconut oil instead of butter, honey instead of maple syrup, my bananas were not so ripe, chopped walnuts and also added a handful of craisins. I can’t wait for my husband to try it. I bet he will drizzle maple syrup on it and love it!

I’m GF and I really like the flavour of the oat flour VS. other options. Great consistency and easy to execute. Thank you for sharing this recipe!

For other people who are wondering about modifications they can do, this is what I did: I used one cup oat flour, 1/2 cup whole wheat flour and 1/2 cup coconut flour. I subbed the maple syrup for brown sugar and I think the eggs I used were regular sized, not large. This seems to be quite a forgiving recipe since it turned out well despite all the changes!

I have also heard these can be a substitute for eggs due to their binding effects. Do you have any insight on how I might go about making these changes?

Thanks for the reply! They were turning brown but probably could have used another day or two to ripen further. Ill try it again!

you could add a touch more maple syrup to make it sweeter but not too much or it will affect the balance of the recipe. I’d definitely recommend using very brown, spotty bananas. That is likely what made the recipe not taste sweet enough for you!

I dont need it to be overly sweet but this was barely sweet. Maybe it was my bananas. Anyway, is there a way to add some sugar to this recipe? More maple syrup would affect it too much right?
